BoTa (Botulinum Toxin A)

Botulinum toxin A works by blocking the chemical receptor  acetycholine  at the neuromuscular junction.  this prevents the muscle from contracting, even though the nerve continues to send a message the tissue does not receive the message and the muscle remains still.  Over several months the muscle gradually develops new receptors and is able to contract again. 

BoTa is most effective for the correction of lines formed from muscle contraction alone such as the laughter lines an frown lines.   Anti ageing injections offer positive results within just 4 to 5 days of treatment. The effects can continue to appear up to 2 weeks.
